This hand crafted oak chair was designed for Mr & Mrs Blackie for their Hill House in Helensburgh in 1905 and recreated by Mackintosh Creations using accurate templates and drawings taken from the original pieces.

The seat height is very low from the ground perhaps to accommodate Mrs Blackie's small stature. The little front legs were a later addition as the chair tilted forward as guests sat on the edge of the chair. We can raise the chair by three inches to make it more practical for today's taller people!

The squares on the side are inlaid with Mother of Pearl making this a truly eye-catching piece of furniture.

Like many of our chairs, the Hill House Easy Chair can be upholstered in a fabric of your choice.
